We’re a team of former regulators, in-house compliance managers, master growers, advocates, and elected officials who also happen to be pretty fun folks to work with.
Our team members have been working in cannabis policy in the West for over a decade. When New Mexico Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham launched her legalization task force, the Weeds team became the chairperson, staff, and advisors to build what became the state’s roadmap to a system built on social equity, public safety, and economic opportunity.
With legalization finally on the way, we partnered with some of the state’s largest medical cannabis companies to navigate their transition to adult use and launched the state’s first “licensing navigator” services for new entrepreneurs.
Today, Weeds. is one of the West’s fastest-growing cannabis companies and New Mexico’s only full-service cannabis service company. Our programs have been used to license over 100 facilities across New Mexico.
Our team provides seed-to-sale licensing, compliance and consulting for operators, wholesale services for established licensees, and provides industry intelligence and analysis.
Co-Founder. Chief Problem Solver.
Pat Davis was appointed in 2019 by New Mexico Governor Lujan Grisham to serve as chair of the governor’s cannabis legalization working group. He led a group of more than 20 industry experts, State cabinet secretaries, regulators, and advocates to produce a roadmap for the state’s transition from medical cannabis to adult-use legalization based on best practices across 14 states.
A former police officer and graduate of the FBI National Academy, Pat traded in his badge to work on public policy, and specifically drug policy.
He also serves as an elected member of the Albuquerque City Council where he wrote and passed the State’s first cannabis zoning codes and legislation decriminalizing cannabis.
Pat has appeared as an expert on New Mexico’s cannabis industry in more than 50 national and state news reports.
Co-Founder. Chief Ganjier.
Matt served as Director of Policy & Planning under former New Mexico Governor Susana Martinez where, among other duties, he assisted with the expansion of medical cannabis licensing.
He also served as Director of External Affairs for the State’s Human Services Department where he helped oversee Medicaid expansion, directed all external and internal communications for the agency, and coordinated all legislative policy. Throughout his career, he has also served as a director of communications for other state agencies, chief of staff in the legislature, and has traveled the country teaching and training political activists. Matt has since served as a Vice President of Communications for one of the state’s most respected public affairs and strategic communications firms working primarily on health care issues.
He also brings an owner’s perspective from years as a majority owner of a CBD company and co-developer and manager of a commercial cannabis production facility.
